God Hears Us and Responds
On Sunday, February 25th, I went to Target with my daughter to return a purchase. When I arrived at the service desk, I was the only one there. Suddenly, it felt like the Flintstones effect; a long line formed behind me. I dislike crowds and was eager to complete my transaction and leave the store. My daughter was purchasing some pet food, so I went to the register while she checked out.
As we left the store and walked into the parking lot, I prayed inwardly for God’s protection and asked Him to send His warring angels to encamp around us. Once in the car, we exchanged a few words, and as I glanced at my phone, preparing to drive off, I looked up to see a pick-up truck that had backed into a parking spot right in front of me. This meant I couldn’t just drive forward and had to back up to leave. Frustration set in, but I refused to complain.
As I started to back up, my daughter pointed to the pick-up truck, which had a sticker on the back window displaying Isaiah 54:17: “No weapon formed against you shall prosper, and you will refute every tongue that rises against you in judgment.” Another verse followed: Isaiah 60:22, “At the right time, I the Lord will make it happen.” Immediately, I repented and began praising God.
Here’s the kicker: initially, when I saw the truck parked where it was, I thought, “There are other parking spaces closer to the entrance; why did they have to park in front of my car?” Among all available spots, this was the choice made, even with two closer options to my right. Friends, did I not ask God to send His warring angels to protect me when I prayed?
God doesn’t just hear us; He responds.
